Lucy

A late night drawing of a sleeping Lucy. This may be the only time she's not slightly naughty.

Kindness

I am behind on my blog postings! I have been working a lot in my free time to produce artwork. (Because what else is there?) The image below has been an ongoing piece fashioned after one of my favorite quotes.

Best of Treasure Valley + New Work

I wanted to share some exciting news from the past week. On Wednesday my husband and I attended the Idaho Statesman's 'Best of Treasure Valley' readers choice awards. I am stoked to have walked away with the second place award for best artist! I had some amazing company in the category and was thrilled to see one of my favorite artists, Kelly Knopp, was nominated, along with Boise favorite, Ward Hooper.

Thanks to all of you who've supported, encouraged, and voted for me. ❤️  It was truly an honor!  Below is a link to the Idaho Statesman article. Did your favorites win?

Also, I am finally finished with this piece! I've really enjoyed spending more time on these projects. I spend several sessions working instead of one day. I love how these two shapes combined look like a heart.

Happy Saturday!

Summer 2016 & Best of Treasure Valley Awards

Summer Update & Best of Treasure Valley Awards.
How is your summer going? I hope this quick note finds you well and enjoying the warmer months. It’s been very busy here in southern Idaho. This March I began working for a local corn maze company illustrating mazes. It’s been a very interesting, fun, and enriching experience. I have to credit my ‘365 Days of Art’ project for providing me with lots of artwork, helping me get this awesome opportunity. I am excited to visit my first maze this year!

In other news, I have been nominated as one of the Idaho Statesman’s top three area artists in the annual ‘Best of Treasure Valley’’ awards. (Thank you to everyone who voted!) My husband and I are excited to hit the road and attend the ceremony on Wednesday, June 15, at the Egyptian Theater in Boise. I have incredibly talented company in the ‘artist’ category and will enjoy meeting the other nominees.

Lastly, I thought I would share some of my latest work with you. I have been excited to spend more time on pieces, focusing mostly on animals. The majority of this new work is done in colored pencil.
Here’s to wishing you a sunny, safe and fun summer!
Sincerely,

Paige

Juniper

These days, when I have a chance to sit down and do a little art, I jump at the chance! This summer will be busy with work and activity.

This little doll is Juniper. She is a Bernese Mountain dog that belongs to my aunt. I used Prismacolor pencils for this one and completed it in about three sittings. I am excited to surprise my aunt with this drawing.

In other news, I was recently nominated, along with a few of my favorite artists, as one of the Idaho Statesman's "Best of Treasure Valley." (In the Artist category.) One of my girlfriends brought it to my attention—I had no idea! And, it looks like we will be headed to Boise for the unveiling of the winners in each of the categories in June. What an honor! I am excited to just have made the list!

Stay tuned for more drawings and paintings. I am working to set some time aside each week for my "sanity break." Happy Saturday!

Portrait Winner 4 Q 2015

Portraits. They are my favorite! For my 365 Days of Art in 2015, I selected one individual from my email list to draw each quarter. I have finally completed the last portrait. This is the beautiful Christine. I am grateful she let me draw her. It was a great exercise in putting several elements together to give it a more personal touch. Never stop learning!

Raw Boise Signature Show

It has been a bit since I have posted here. I have gotten an illustration job here in the Pocatello area, which is keeping me busy four days out of the week.

BUT, I have also been madly preparing for my Raw Artists Signature Show that is coming up Thursday, March 24, at 7:00 pm at the Revolution Concert House. A large number of my "365 Days of Art" paintings and drawings will be on display and for sale. If you are interested in getting discounted tickets visit the link below, or contact me. I am very excited to go back home to celebrate this fun evening (and it is my birthday). I'd love to see you. Stop by my booth and say hello!
