N0. 99

No. 99 / Curious
Original Watercolor + PanPastel — Image Size 8.25" x 5.25" (paper size 12" x 9")

One of my favorite places is Grasmere, Cumbria. I went on the most picturesque nature walk from William Wordsworth's Dove Cottage to the Lake District in Grasmere. You  wouldn't believe a place could be so green. It was a blazing day and I was with a bunch of tourists, hanging back to take pictures . . . of everything. When we came into the village there were several cows scattered about the emerald landscape. I am a sucker for animals of any kind so I had to stop. This was one of my favorite bovine acquaintances.  Unafraid and curious. I've been wanting to paint her for several months.

Fun fact: Beatrix Potter had a farm outside of the Lake District.
