No 316 / Sharpening Stone

This is what is called a sharpening stone for calligraphy pen nibs. It was given to me by my friend, Jean, in a box of farewell goodies. I met her while living in Great Falls, Mt. at an Arts Association of Montana meeting; we became fast friends. She is a graphic designer and artist. We could talk forever about art, lettering, and the like, which was a real treat. I am going to miss her. It's not every day that you meet kindred spirits, but when you do . . . you know it.
