Another move, another absence.
Initially November was going to showcase imagery from my trip to the UK last year with a portion of sales to be donated to Cancer Connection Idaho. When I discovered I was going to be moving I knew I had to adjust my subject matter (to make it a little easier on me). Since it was No Shave November (Movember) I was going to work that angle, but quickly learned I wasn’t ‘feeling’ it. Then it hit me. Gratitude. I wanted to focus on the things I appreciate—the little things. Unpacking I ran across some old sketchbooks. When I was thumbing through them I found I really enjoyed the simple nature of the drawings I had done. I will do simple paintings of the simple things. If any sell, I will donate 50 percent of proceeds to Cancer Connection Idaho. And, if all goes right, I will make December the month of “New Perspectives.”
Today's post . . .
First of all, I love these Blackwing pencils. They are amazing (and pricey). The erasers are funky, too. More importantly I am grateful for what they represent—the ability to draw and create. I am blessed to be able to do this everyday. I have a good hand to draw with, sight to see with, and the mental capacity to interpret it all. It's a good day!
**I am beginning this series at the number of the day of the year. I will make up the missing numbers as I go. This way I can keep track of the days from both moves that need to be completed to make up the full 365 days. As it stands, this project will be moving into 2016 until they are all complete—big and small.
