No. 287

No. 287 / Common Merganser

I spent a very nice day in Helena yesterday with friends touring Mountain Sage Gallery and the Archie Bray Foundation (an awesome spectacle of installation art at its best—see photos below). I was a little late in finishing Thursday's drawing, but it was worth it! This is a Common Merganser; a bird spotted in Grand Teton National Park. They also live in Great Falls. They are exotic birds that are about the size of a goose (my eyeballing) with a burgandy/burnt orange faux hawk, of sorts.
