It might be possible that I am on my way to getting caught up. Phew! Today I have two paintings. The first image is of the Yellow-headed Blackbird, a resident of the Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge. We visited the area last weekend and I was surprised to discover the variety of birds living right out our back door. (Stay tuned for more birds.)

The second painting is a "catch up" painting from my absence while moving. What makes this one unusual is my use of the new QoR Watercolor Ground. This special ground can be slathered on wood, canvas, illustration board, terra cotta, and any number of other surfaces to allow watercolor painting on different surfaces. It acts much like gesso. It's pretty revolutionary to me. It creates an interesting result, which I intend to play with more.
