No. 12

No. 12 Hipsterberry
Watercolor, 5” x 7” (with approximately .7” border)

For the longest time I have wanted to take a trek to Guru Donuts, but for whatever reason was never able to do it. Finally, last weekend I got to witness their awesome new space downtown.

While standing in line I was eyeballing all the donuts to see which would make the best specimens for my project. Hipsterberry immediately caught my eye with its vibrant magenta and purple tones. It was the only one it the lineup with any fresh color that day.

“Oh, I am sorry. It looks like we are all out of Hipsterberry,” the girl behind the counter told the man in front of me.

What?! I want that doughnut!

When my turn came I tried to pick the most visually interesting doughnuts I could find. Again, the girl had to inform me they were all out of one I wanted.

“It’s a demo model. We can’t sell them as they’ve been out in the air . . .”

I quickly told her what I was doing with the doughnuts and scored both of them, no charge. AND, it saved me from eating them.

If you are looking for a fun outing on a weekend check out Guru. Fun ambiance. Yummy doughnuts.
